• Some savvy shoppers who can clip coupons and purchase toiletry items, i.e. toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, laundry soap, bar soap and dishwashing soap. We are often short on these items; and know that at area grocery stores, all of these can be obtained for free with coupons when sales take place, or for 25 to 50 cents! We'd like to call on parishioners to help us make wise purchases for as little money as possible. St. Vincent de Paul would reimburse any out-of-pocket expenses up to an agreed limit on each item.
• Volunteers who would be willing to take the calls off of the SVDP answering machine and enter them into an online Excel database. This activity takes 30-60 minutes per day, you can volunteer to help weekly or as often as you would like.
• Volunteers to help deliver food to SVDP clients, either at the client's residence or at the church. This would be a great activity for families who have kids needing service hours, you could sign up for as little as an hour on a schedule that meets your needs, or be placed on a roster of volunteers that can be called when we need people for this activity.
• We continue to need discarded plastic grocery bags, you can drop them in the narthex of the church.
Contact for Assistance
Please call the Parish main number 513-575-0119 and selection option # 2 for St Vincent de Paul Intake Help Line. Leave a message including your name, phone number and nature of your request for assistance. The St. Vincent de Paul volunteers check the messages daily and will call you back to arrange a time to meet.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society meets every other Monday evening at 7:00 pm in the SASEAS School Edrich Room. We are here to help anyone within the parish boundaries needing emergency assistance including food, clothing, furniture, financial aid, advocating for the poor and visiting the sick and homebound.
We pray for our ministry and those for whom we are helping and working. We also facilitate Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas gifts for those in need in our area.
Once each year (usually the third Saturday in June) we hold "the Run for the Poor" race. Every fifth Sunday throughout the year, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish allows us the benefit of a second collection for the benefit of our work.
These and private donations give us the means to carry on our work of assisting the poor and needy. St. Vincent de Paul can always use some extra assistance from parishioners only taking up a small amount of your time.
